Slow progress in 2010 as the Farmhouse remains unsold after 12 months and so we are working on the new build ourselves as time allows.We fitted the windows and doors and the guttering( although last week the very heavy snow has brought down 2 sections), and after much chasing and arguing the services, Gas and Water are connected and tomorrow the Electricity is being connected.
The guttering had to be cast iron and mounted on steel rise and fall brackets, and most of this was reclaimed ( thanks Ebay sellers) and stripped and repainted. Of course it was the new rise and fall brackets and not the reclaimed which failed in the heavy snow!
We have also sourced enough paving blocks ( Ebay again!!) to complete the driveway and Farmhouse courtyard and the laying of them is the next project in 2011, together with first fix electrical installation when the weather demands inside working.
